When I began formulating this product line back in 2004, I knew I needed to create a proprietary blend of oils that would provide the right amount of nutrition and hydration without being too heavy or comedogenic. Over the first couple of years, with the help of my distributors and feedback from my clients—my “test dummies”—I researched many different oils.

The journey started with Abyssinian Oil. I was immediately drawn to the name, and upon further investigation, I discovered that no other brands were using it at the time. This oil has an ultra-light, non-greasy feel and a unique molecular structure not found in other naturally occurring substances. Most importantly, its high percentage of unsaturated fatty acids makes it highly resistant to oxidation. Oxidation of oils in products can create free radicals in the skin, which contributes to accelerated aging. That's definitely not ideal! Fortunately, this oil is biodegradable, non-toxic to the environment, and cruelty-free. It was a win-win situation all around.

Next, I incorporated Cranberry Seed Oil into the formulation. This oil stands out due to its rich ratio of omega fatty acids and is loaded with tocotrienols (a form of Vitamin E). It is extremely stable, light, and non-greasy, making it an obvious choice. I was also attracted to its ability to heal irritation and support conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, which is likely why Cara Delevingne claims these products helped heal her psoriasis-riddled skin.

The final oil I selected for this trio is Pomegranate Seed Oil. This oil is particularly beneficial for anti-aging due to its soothing effects and impressive anti-inflammatory properties. It contains Punicic Acid, a specific fatty acid that acts as a free radical scavenger, promoting skin restoration and repair while also aiding in collagen production. Another excellent addition!

In summary, combining two of these three oils has been essential to the creation of our star product, Truthful Serum, which effectively benefits both dry and oily skin types. This blend also serves as the foundation for our everyday creams, Heartfelt Emulsion Day and Evening. Discovering this trio completely transformed the formulation of the line and contributed significantly to its success today.
